Tickle Me Mandy is the third segment of the twelfth episode of Grim & Evil, and the third segment of the sixth episode of the first season of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Synopsis[]

Mandy is going away for the day and Billy is lonely, so Grim makes a New Mandy for him to play with. But she goes to extreme lengths to get a terrified Billy to play with her.

Plot[]

The episode begins outside Mandy’s house as her parents are loading luggage into the car. Billy weeps at her feet, begging her not to leave. Mandy assures Billy that she’ll only be gone overnight while he house-sits.

Later on, as Grim is watching television, a forlorn Billy tells him how lonely he is without Mandy to play with. He annoys Grim with his constant weeping, until he gets an idea and tells Billy to show him his toys. Billy and Grim combine several of his toys into one. Included are a gourd for a head, arms from a t-rex, wheels from a firetruck as legs, and a bat decoration as hair. Grim’s finishing touch is a pencil-drawn mouth.

With everything in place, Grim uses his supernatural powers to bring the creation to life. With the flick of a switch on the back of the head, the being called New Mandy comes to life and freaks out Billy, who hides under his bed. She then aggressively demands he play with her. The first game they play is tag. Billy tags New Mandy; she responds by violently slapping his nose. Later on, as Billy is minding his own business coloring, New Mandy grabs his crayons and snaps them in half, then runs around drawing on the walls with a red crayon until the crayon is completely filed down to a stub.

Later that night, as Billy is being tucked into bed by Grim, he nervously asks where New Mandy will be sleeping. As New Mandy isn’t a human, she doesn’t need sleep, and Billy is told she’ll be watching him sleep all night long. Billy goes to sleep and has a disturbing nightmare about New Mandy going into the kitchen to retrieve a spatula, then barging into his room and hitting him with it. Grim wakes him up and tells him that New Mandy is outside waiting for him to come out and play on the seesaw. In the distance, Billy and Grim spot the real Mandy and her family approaching. Billy runs downstairs in excitement, only to see a very confused real Mandy confronting New Mandy. When New Mandy introduces herself as “Mandy,” the real Mandy launches her off the seesaw. She hits the ground and breaks into a dozen pieces.

Sometime later, Grim, Billy and Mandy hold a mock funeral for New Mandy, whose remains are placed in a shoebox. Although Billy was terrified of New Mandy the entire time, he still can’t help but sob at the loss of his temporary friend. Grim and Mandy walk in the house to watch television. The episode ends with New Mandy’s hand emerging from the shoebox, grabbing Billy’s nose and screaming, PLAY!
